Ok, please humor me a little on this chapter. I took some liberties when it came to Pope Frances. In TWD world, the zombie apocalypse didn’t start til 2010. Pope Francis didn’t move to be the Holy Father til 2013. Also, in this story he speaks English. In real life, he does not. One other thing, I no nothing about his personality.

I wanted there to be something extra special and sacred about this place. It’s more then just a mountain like fortress but a very holy place as well. In my head, the Pope was brought here for protection when his home at the Vatican fell. So, other than the Pope being realistic by name, everything else is just for the purpose of this story.
