Everyone has heard the story of Daryl's time with Joe and his band of misfits. Daryl never expected his friends to take the rule for claiming as more than the game they made it into. Until they take it too far and someone dares to try to claim Carol. Now it's man up or take the chance of losing her forever.

"Winning just means we get tomorrow, and maybe one more night. After that ... no guarantees." Carol learns of Carl’s fate and turns to the only person she can to console her … Daryl.  

After a successful raid on the Sanctuary by the joined communities, Rick brings home a broken and bitter Daryl.  Can Carol battle past the walls he’s built to help him heal, or has she lost him forever?

It had become a festering ache beneath the surface of his skin, this need he had to protect her, to save her … because he was certain he was the only one who could in a world gone to hell.

Set in 05x12 Remember.  Daryl hates Alexandria, feeling as if he’s going to suffocate at any moment.  The only thing he hates more is the mask Carol has opted to wear.  Can he find her again, buried beneath the layers, or will he risk losing her for good?

He had loved her for so long.  Carol was the one constant in his life which he clung to, especially during the dark times.  Now if he could just find the courage to tell her and pray she could find it in her heart to feel the same.  How couldn’t she when they were bound by the threads of fate?

The group feels as if they’re going in circles after the fall of the farm, always trying to stay ahead of hordes of the dead.  Seeking refuge in Warm Springs, they’re allowed to take a breather, but will Daryl let his guard down enough to see what’s been in front of him all this time and take a chance at happiness?  Carol certainly hopes so.

A weekend retreat with all their friends … no.  A new man already stalking Carol … oh, hell no!  Daryl has been pining for her for years.  He’s not about to let someone else horn in on his best friend, the only woman he’s ever loved.  But will a weekend away, unresolved feelings and this new threat be enough to get him to confess all to her?
